Your Tattoo Appointment: Step-by-Step Walkthrough
Getting a tattoo is exciting — and maybe a little nerve-wracking, especially if it’s your first time. I want everyone who walks into my studio to feel comfortable, informed, and confident.
Here’s exactly what to expect during your appointment.
Before You Arrive
I take care of everything so you can focus on the experience
I thoroughly disinfect the space.
I set up all my materials with care.
If your design and size are already confirmed, I print and prep your stencil ahead of time to streamline the session.
When You Arrive
We’ll review the artwork and placement together
If the design isn't finalized yet, I help you decide the best placement and size, based on aesthetics, pain levels, and how the tattoo will age - I gladly answer all your questions!
You fill out a brief form for safety and clarity.
Prepping the Canvas (That’s You!)
I’ll seat you and clean the area
I clean and shave the area (even if hair isn’t visible — precision matters).
I apply the stencil with transfer gel.
We let the stencil dry. That’s to ensure it doesn’t rub off as I’m outlining your tattoo.
I always give you as much time as you need to sit with your stencil and make sure you love the placement and size.
I gladly re-apply the stencil if needed (don’t ever hesitate to ask to re-do the stencil, even for a millimeter difference - that’s what I’m here for!).
I confirm that you’re 100% happy with it before we begin.
The Tattooing Process
Once You’re Comfy
I set up my inks and begin the outline.
I check in regularly, making sure you’re comfortable, offering snacks and water, or the opportunity to stretch.
Then come the details, shading, and finishing touches.
Aftercare & Wrap-Up
When the Tattoo is Done
I give it a final wash.
I take my setup down, safely dispose of needles, and disinfect the space again.
I take professional photos of your new tattoo (if you're cool with that!).
I wrap it carefully to protect it.
You’ll leave with
A cute, clear aftercare guide (which we’ll review together).
The option to buy a $5.99 tattoo balm (ideal for taking the guesswork out of finding a product with the right ingredients for the best healing).
Your receipt.
A punch card — your 3rd tattoo gets 20% off!
Every tattoo is a collaboration
I specialize in handpoked tattoos — an artful, precise method done without a machine — and I’m here to guide you every step of the way.
Whether you're new to tattoos or curious about this technique, don’t hesitate to ask!
