About the studio
Location
The studio is located in a Chibougamau beauty salon, along with two hair stylists, one beautician, and one chiropractor.
You’ll find me in local #2. You may either enter through the beauty salon, or directly through my personal exterior entry.
The beauty salon has free outdoor parking, a waiting room, a gender-neutral bathroom and a fridge, should you need it. The salon policy asks that you leave your shoes at the door. Some slippers are provided for your comfort.
The studio’s mission
Everyone is welcomed at the studio, regardless of age, gender identification, ethnicity, culture or language. It is important to me that each client can feel safe and at ease in the environment I created to receive them. There is a vulnerability in the act of getting tattooed, and I treat it with the utmost respect.
About me
Experience & certifications
I have been tattooing independently since 2018, from my home studio in Montreal. I had a lot of friends there who were tattoo artists, and I learned the trade from them directly.
I have a valid BloodBorne Pathogens’ course certificate from the Canadian Red Cross, and practice tattooing in accordance to the federal and provincial recommendations and guidelines.
I speak both French and English fluently.
The studio policies
Deposit
A 50$ deposit is required upon booking your tattoo session. The deposit will go towards the final price of your tattoo.
The deposit is non-refundable.
Rates
I don’t charge by the hour, given that hanpoked tattoos take a bit more time than machine tattoos. I charge by the piece, starting at 100$.
Consent form
You will be asked to fill out and sign a consent form before your tattoo session begins. This is standard practice.
Intoxication
No alcohol or drugs are permitted inside the studio. Should you be noticeably intoxicated in a way that impairs your ability to consent or the effectiveness of the tattoo process, the session will be ended with no deposit refund.
Aftercare
An aftercare card with a list of things to do and avoid during the healing phase of your tattoo will be provided at the end of the session. The studio also sells tattoo balm made with natural ingredients, to take the guesswork out of finding the right moisturizer for tattoo aftercare. I can also give recommendations of some products you can find at the local pharmacy.
Touch ups
It is your responsibility to take care of your healing tattoo as best as you can. I do offer free touch ups when the aftercare instructions have been followed.
Some people’s skin is more sensitive than others’, so in order to avoid overworking the skin, you might need a second session.
Payment
Payments are collected either by cash, Interac e-transfer at billing@mauvaisair.com, or via tap debit/credit card.
